Paladins: Champions of the RealmPaladins Makes Every Champion a Build Instead of a Fixed Answer
Front line, damage, support, and flank roles combine with talents, fifteen-point card loadouts, items, and objective modes to make adaptation part of hero mastery.
A champion is the beginning of the choice
Each champion arrives with a weapon, abilities, role, and ultimate, but talents change major behavior while card decks adjust cooldowns, movement, sustain, resources, and other details. Selection does not finish the build.
This lets a familiar character answer different maps or team needs without becoming unrecognizable. The best loadout supports a plan the player can explain, not five popular cards chosen without understanding their interaction.
Fifteen points force priorities
A loadout uses five cards whose levels share a fixed point budget. Investing heavily in one effect leaves less room for the others, so every deck reveals what the player expects to do most often.
The constraint prevents customization from becoming a list of free bonuses. A flank built for escape sacrifices some aggression; a support built for personal survival may give up team utility. Tradeoffs create identity.
Roles describe responsibility, not location
Front Lines create space, Damage champions apply pressure, Supports sustain and enable, and Flanks exploit vulnerable angles. Strong teams understand these responsibilities without assuming every member of a role behaves identically.
A support can contribute damage and a tank can pressure a backline, but the objective still exposes neglected duties. Individual highlights matter less when no one controls the point or protects the route into it.
Items and talents keep the match conversational
Build choices continue after teams are known. Talents, loadouts, and match items allow responses to shields, healing, crowd control, deployables, or a specific threat. The strategy is partly drafted before combat and partly revised through it.
That flexibility raises the learning burden. New players must understand their own champion, allies, opponents, cards, and shop choices at once. Paladins becomes rewarding when the options stop looking like homework and start looking like answers.
